Beloved Department,
Today begins Lent, a time of fasting and penitence in which we focus on gifts from God and give thanks. This month is Women's History month, a special celebration of the 52% of the world's population that is not always empowered and recognized as also being made in the image of God. I hope to share a few links with you this month that may help you increase your knowledge and understanding of the complexity of the issues and pursue our quest for love and human dignity. Here are two links that may inspire you and help you learn more. First is a collection of inspiring women in the arts from the Kennedy Center.

Since there is also a note of seriousness along with the joy of these amazing people, I also include a site that casts a wider net and has some interesting and amusing stories.

In Christ's Service,
