Just an FYI that the latest DegreeWorks upgrade has now been released: DW4.0.4.

For those of you with access to the DegreeWorks folder on the W: drive under Workgroups, I've downloaded the technical documentation and have placed it under the following path:
W:\Workgroups\DegreeWorks\Updated Tech & User Guides (DW4.0.4).

For those who might only access the W: drive that's shared by Academic Services/Student Records, I've also placed these documents under THIS path: 
W:\Academic\DegreeWorks\Technical & User Guides\Updated Tech & User Guides (DW4.0.4)

I've also updated the Excel file, DegreeWorks-Log of Software Releases & Patches, noting the highlights of this release.  One new option provided by SGHE is to use Adobe Flex to access a Web-based version of SureCode, but this can only be used if we're running Tomcat on the application server, and I don't think that's the case.  Not sure why SGHE is providing this new option, but it could be a sign of things to come (perhaps Scribe and Transit will also someday have a Web-based interface?).

At this time, we are still functioning fine on DW4.0.1 in PROD and the upgrade in TEST to DW4.0.3 is working well for the most part--so the upgrade to DW4.0.4 is not immediately needed, although it does correct several little items that were reported as defects in DW4.0.1, DW4.0.2, and DW4.0.3.

We certainly won't be implementing this upgrade until well after the Banner 8.0 upgrade takes place later this month.

DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS:

To download the defect patch, go to the SunGard Higher Education Support Center web site - https://connect.sungardhe.com/customer_support

Click on 'Documentation & Download Center', then the 'Documentation' tab near the top.  Choose DegreeWorks from the 'Select Product' list.  Check the checkbox next to 'DW4.0.0' 'Install Guide' and 'Release Guide' and click the "List Files" button.

Next, click on the 'Software Downloads' tab near the top.  Choose DegreeWorks from the 'Select Product' list.  Check the checkbox next to "DW4.0.0" and click the "List Files" button.

Check the checkboxes next to the instructions and patch file, and click the 'ZIP Selected Files' button. Click on the 'Click Here to Download the ZIP File' button to download into your download area. See the Installation Instructions (DGW_Installation_Guide_DW404.pdf) for the steps to install this patch onto your server.
