BSOB Students:
Tomorrow, Wednesday October 8, the business school is hosting Dr. Brian Fikkert, author of When Helping Hurts, a book that has changed how churches approach poverty alleviation for the past 2 decades. He is professor of economics and the founder and director of the Chalmers Center at Covenant College on Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga. The Chalmers Center exists to "help God's people rethink poverty and respond with practical biblical principles so that all are restored to flourishing.

The title of his talk is:
GETTING OUR STORY STRAIGHT
How the Story of the American Dream is Hurting Poor People... And Ourselves

He is speaking at 9:15 am in the Regions Room - see flyer attached. According to Dr. McCarty, Dr. Fikkert is funny, brilliant, engaging, and loves Jesus. He's also a 6'10" economist, which is fun. He is one of the most prominent people to give a talk in BSOB this semester.
