[BusinessGrad] Regions New Venture Challenge is ON

Good morning BSOB Students!  With support from our friends at Regions...the 2020 Regions New Venture Challenge is STILL ON.

The key dates remain the same (see below) and the first round is unchanged at all...written plans for the OPEN division are due by email to cmcarson at samford.edu<mailto:cmcarson at samford.edu> by 4:00 on 4/8.

The semifinals (6 plans selected from the initial submissions)  and finals (3 plans selected from the semifinalists) will use pre-recorded presentations and involve a WebEx call for Q/A.

I know that many of you have been pointing towards this event for several semesters - please do push through and submit...we WILL award this prize money this year so I strongly encourage your submissions!

Greetings Brock School Students!

I am emailing you to encourage you to participate in our 12th Annual Regions New Venture Challenge Business Plan Writing Competition.

Our Competition "Key Dates" are:


*         Submissions for the Open Division and BUSA 100 Division are due by Wednesday April 8, 2020 at 4:00 pm.  Business plans must be submitted electronically to cmcarson at samford.edu<mailto:cmcarson at samford.edu> by the deadline to be eligible.

*         A semi-final round will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday April 15, 2020 starting at 2:00 pm.

*         Finalists will then have the opportunity to pitch their business plans to Regions executives:, other business leaders, as well as Samford faculty and students in the Regions Community Resource Room (4th floor of Cooney Hall) on Friday April 24, 2020 starting at 11:00 am.

We have two divisions:  BUSA 100 Division and Open Division

The BUSA 100 division is for students who have or are taking BUSA 100 during the 2019-20 school year.
The prizes for the BUSA 100 division are as follows:

1st place:  $ 2,500
2nd place: $ 1,500
3rd place: $ 1,000

The Open Division is for other current Samford undergraduate or graduate students as well as recent alums.
The prizes for the Open division are as follows:

1st place:  $7,500
2nd place: $5,000
3rd place:  $2,500
