[BusinessGrad] Brock School of Business Leadership Transition

Dear Brock School Students,



I know you have a lot of work and responsibilities associated with concluding the academic year.  Before you leave this summer, I want to share news concerning pending leadership changes for your school.



First, effective July 1 I will transition into the role of Senior Associate Provost in the Office of Academic Affairs.  I am excited about the opportunity to work with all the colleges and schools at Samford to help facilitate their growth and prosperity.



At that time, Dr. Chad Carson will become the Interim Dean of the Brock School of Business.  Dr. Carson has served admirably as associate dean for the past 8 years, and I have complete faith in his ability to lead our school effectively and continue the outstanding growth in programs and reputation.



Dr. Jeremy Thornton will be become the Associate Dean.  Dr. Thornton has provided important direction for our Social Entrepreneurship program, which he will continue to lead.  His many talents will contribute greatly to our school's continued success.



Also, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Barbara Cartledge will be promoted to Senior Assistant Dean effective July 1.  Dr. Cartledge has provided outstanding leadership for our Academic Programs, including counseling and professional development, and she will continue to be an important part of the Brock Leadership team.



Please join me in congratulating Dr. Carson, Dr. Thornton, and Dr. Cartledge on these well-deserved promotions.  I am excited about the future of the Brock School of Business, and look forward to seeing their leadership help the school prosper in the years ahead.
