Financial Analyst

Position Summary

This position reports to the CFO and is responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of financial analyses in support of the Finance function.

Essential Duties


  1.  Coordinates and develops income statement and balance sheet forecasts.
  2.  Consolidates and analyzes annual budgets.
  3.  Prepares monthly loan base report and other reports required by banks.
  4.  Performs variance analyses of financial results.
  5.  Prepares advisory board books including the write-up of analysis, development of appropriate charts and graphs and comparisons of key ratios to benchmarks/targets.
  6.  Assists with the development of appropriate key performance indicators and tracks the companies' performance against benchmarks or established targets.
  7.  Develops and maintains databases used to perform on-going analyses, such as trailing 12-month charts and comparisons to benchmarks.
  8.  Analyze and allocate information technology and telephone expenses monthly.
  9.  Prepare schedules and allocation of monthly guaranty fees.
  10. Assist with tracking of 401k deferrals on a weekly basis.
  11. Develop charts and summaries of past due accounts receivables each month.

Other Duties

Special projects as assigned by CFO.

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities


  *   Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  *   Five to seven years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting with an emphasis on financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
  *   Construction industry experience is a plus.
  *   High degree of proficiency in Excel developing financial models, spreadsheets and graphs.
  *   Accounting principles and practices and skill in their application.
  *   Preparation of comprehensive financial statements and reports.
  *   Analytical with an attention to details.
  *   Working knowledge of Crystal Reports is a plus, but not required.
  *   Team player & adaptable:  candidate will work closely with personnel of four companies including accounting personnel and senior management.
  *   Accountability:  willingness and desire to take ownership.
  *   Skills in establishing and maintaining relationships.
  *   Superior organization skills.
