It is time to submit applications to join the Bulldog Investment Fund management team if you are hoping to join the Fund during the Spring 2012 semester.

Managing the Fund is a 3-credit course, FINC 525 Bulldog Investment Fund, that counts as an elective for both the MAcc and MBA degrees. Students who participate elect their own leaders, divide themselves into areas of the economy called Sectors, and make buy and sell decisions for the fund's $1.2 million account. It provides excellent investment fund experience and it is a terrific résumé item. Please visit the fund's new website at http://business.samford.edu/bulldog-investment-fund.aspx

To be selected you are required to have taken FINC 514 Foundation of Finance or have earned an exemption. Having completed FINC 521 Managerial Finance is preferred. Selection is competitive.

Attached is an application form. Please fill it out online, then print it out, staple the necessary attachments, and turn it in by 4:30pm on October 14th. Also, please make plans to attend one of the Fund's meetings.  Ideally this should be on Wednesday October 12th 5:30-8pm, i.e. before the deadline. If unable to attend that night please contact Professor John Venable jmvenabl at samford.edu<mailto:jmvenabl at samford.edu>, Faculty Advisor to the Bulldog Fund to make an alternative arrangement.  This is required so that you can better determine if the course is a fit for you and Professor Venable can match a person with your application.
